Men's Leotard Measuring Guide

Use this guide to take the key measurements needed for Envy Activewear men's leotards and coordinated pant styles.

For the most accurate fit, measure over close-fitting garments, stand naturally and keep the tape firm but not tight.

Send your exact measurements rather than rounding up or down. Accurate measurements produce the cleanest and most comfortable fit possible.

Before you start

  • Use a soft tape measure.
  • Keep the tape level around the body.
  • Do not pull the tape tight or allow it to sag.
  • Do not add 'growing room' to measurements.
  • Double-check each measurement before placing your order.

Essential Measurements

These are the core measurements used most often for men's leotards and matching pants.

Quick reference diagram for men's leotards
  • Chest: Measure around the fullest part of the chest with arms relaxed at the sides. Ensure the tape passes evenly across the back and remains level around the body.
  • Waist: Measure around the natural waistline, which is the narrowest part of the torso between the rib cage and the hips. Keep the tape comfortably snug without tightening.
  • Hip: Measure around the fullest part of the hips and buttocks while standing with feet together. Ensure the tape remains level all the way around the body.
  • Body Girth: Starting at the centre of one shoulder, run the tape down the front of the body, through the legs, and up the back to the same shoulder. This measurement is essential for determining the overall length and fit of the leotard.
  • Inseam: Measure from the crotch down the inside of the leg to the ankle or to the desired pant length.

Additional Custom Fit Measurements

If your garment includes sleeves or a customised pant fit, you may also be asked for the following measurements.

  • Bicep: Measure around the fullest part of the upper arm while the arm is relaxed at the side.
  • Sleeve Length: Measure from the shoulder point down the arm to the desired sleeve length.
  • Wrist: Measure around the wrist at the point where the sleeve cuff will finish.
  • Knee: Measure around the centre of the knee with the leg relaxed.
  • Thigh: Measure around the widest part of the upper leg.
  • Ankle: Measure around the ankle where the pant hem will finish.
  • Waist to Hip: Measure vertically down the side of the body from the natural waistline to the lower hip.
  • Hip to Knee: Measure down the side of the leg from the lower hip to the centre of the knee.
  • Knee to Ankle: Measure from the centre of the knee down the side of the leg to the ankle or desired pant length.
